Marin was 29 years old and he graduated from Mission High high school in 1996 and joined the Army two years later, serving in Bosnia. His second tour of duty in Iraq was scheduled to end Feb. 17, and he hoped to eventually join the U.S. Border Patrol and start a family. Marin is also survived by his mother, Leslie.
